Final Fantasy XIV Patch 7.55 opens Occult Crescent: North Horn and wraps up Dawntrail
Patch 7.55 is now live in Final Fantasy XIV, adding the Occult Crescent: North Horn zone, the Forked Tower: Magic field raid, the final stage of the Phantom Weapons, and the conclusion of Hildibrand's saga and Dawntrail's allied society quests.
Square Enix rolled out Patch 7.55 for Final Fantasy XIV today, the update that wraps up Dawntrail's content cycle ahead of the next big expansion. It's a stacked patch: a new field operation zone, a 48-player field raid, the final stage of the Phantom Weapons, and the conclusion of two of the game's most beloved storylines. Occult Crescent: North Horn, the missing half
The headline addition is Occult Crescent: North Horn, a direct sequel to South Horn that pushes exploration into the island's northern half and continues the story of Ketenramm and his crew, still stranded in Shades' Triangle. It's an instanced zone built for large groups: it requires level 100 and item level 690 or higher, and it raises the knowledge cap from 20 to 40. Two new phantom jobs join in —Phantom Black Mage and Phantom Blue Mage— alongside an elemental weakness system for enemies, EXP chain bonuses of up to 30 links, and two new currencies, the Enlightenment silver and gold obols.
Forked Tower: Magic, the new field raid
Inside North Horn sits Forked Tower: Magic, the patch's field raid, designed for alliances of up to 48 players, with a tougher (Extreme) variant for groups of 12 to 48. It's the update's big coordinated challenge, in line with the large-scale content these zones are known for.
The Phantom Weapons reach their final form
Anyone grinding their Phantom Weapons now gets the series' finale: new quests with Gerolt let you take these weapons to their final stage, capping off the weapon enhancement system that ran through this content cycle.
Hildibrand and Dawntrail's send-off
On the story side, 7.55 ties off two threads. Inconceivably Further Hildibrand Adventures brings the curtain down on the wild cases of Eorzea's most theatrical detective, while the Touring Tural capstone quests close out Dawntrail's allied society storylines. These are the side-content farewells before the expansion turns the page.
Quality of life, PvP, and cosmetics
The rest of the patch spreads out the improvements: dual field instances for Heritage Found and the phantom village to ease server congestion, two new text commands (/navigate and /lookback), and PvP tweaks to several job actions and to Frontline rating calculations. Drop rates for the Wings of Mist and Wings of Nihility from extreme trials go up, and the Celestriad mechanic gets better visibility in Dancing Mad (Ultimate). On the cosmetic front there are furnishings from the Furnishing Design Contest 2025, a hairstyle from the Hairstyle Design Contest 2023, and new mounts, minions, and accessories.
