Arknights: Endfield
About the game
Arknights: Endfield is a gacha action RPG set on Talos-II, a planet humanity colonized 152 years before the story begins. You play the Endministrator of Endfield Industries, waking from cryo-sleep with no memory and put in charge of rebuilding and defending the frontier. Combat runs in real time around squads of four swappable operators, with cross-character combos and status effects that chain into launches, freezes and juggles.
A factory inside the RPG
The other half of the game is industrial simulation. The Automated Industrial Complex (AIC) has you laying conveyor belts, wiring supply chains and tuning resource output, closer to Factorio than to a standard gacha. HYPERGRYPH aims for a 50/50 split between the two pillars.
There is no co-op combat. You can visit other players' bases, share blueprints and pitch in on their production, but story, bosses and exploration are single-player.
What you pay for
It is free to play with no upfront purchase, and the operator and weapon gacha carries the monetisation. A pull costs 500 Oroberyl (5,000 for ten), a 6★ has a base 0.8% rate, a 6★ is guaranteed at 80 pulls and the featured operator at 120 on limited banners. That guarantee fires once and does not carry over to the next banner.
The standard banner lets you pick a 6★ at 300 pulls, the beginner banner guarantees one at 40 and the weapon banner at 8. In money: roughly USD 20 for ten pulls and around USD 300 for 120, depending on the currency pack. The Protocol Pass adds a free track, a premium-currency track that pays back more than it costs if you finish it, and a paid tier around USD 10.
On PC there is no Steam version: you download it from the official site or the Epic Games Store. There are also PS5, Android and iOS versions, plus a web shop for topping up currency.
Where it stands today
It has been live since January 22, 2026, with a new version every six or seven weeks, each split into two banner phases. 1.3 introduced the Emergency Contract endgame and the Sword-Hidden River map; 1.4 added the permanent seasonal mode Echoes of War, the Yinglung Pass region, the North Wuling Exclusion Zone and the main quest Ruins in the Miasma. The launch was huge: over 35 million pre-registrations and USD 173 million earned in two weeks.
Who it is for
It fits players who want two games in one: combo-driven fights and a base to optimise, without needing anyone else online. If you come from the original tower-defence Arknights, this is a different animal, and if gacha is a dealbreaker, it decides your roster here too. Since 1.3 the most repeated complaint has been thin endgame content and stingy rewards.
