Where Winds Meet closes Hidden Mountain on September 16 with the villain who started it all

The Hidden Mountain finale finally has a date. NetEase Games and Everstone Studio confirmed that Chapter 3, the closing act of the arc, lands in Where Winds Meet on September 16. It picks up right where Heaven's Threshold, the second part that opened on August 20, left off.

The chapter puts players face to face with Qianye, the man behind the Blissful Retreat tragedy: the fire that burns down the protagonist's home and sets the whole story in motion. Per the studio, it's the first direct confrontation with him since that scene.

On the content side, the update adds two special bosses and two open-world bosses, plus a new extraction mode. Ahead of that, on September 3, comes the Bamboo Cut – Draught martial arts set, inspired by Drunken Master and built with Yuen Woo-ping, whom the studio brought on as global action consultant.

The announcement arrived with a big number attached: 100 million players in total, counting the original Chinese service alongside the global PC, console and mobile versions. NetEase didn't specify what period the figure covers, how it breaks down by platform, or whether any activity threshold applies. It's a lifetime total, not a read on how many people play today.

Running in the meantime is Ghost Month, the event that folds Chinese ghost stories into the game's regular mode. Where Winds Meet also picked up a Best Mobile Game nomination at the Gamescom 2026 awards. The PC version lives on Steam.
