Royale Online
About the game
Royale Online is a mobile MMORPG from Turkish studio BYTE Teknoloji, and it makes no secret of its lineage: it started life as Royale2 and inherits almost the entire blueprint of twenty-year-old grind MMOs, three kingdoms locked in permanent war included. You pick a kingdom and a class, and everything else happens out in open zones packed with mobs.
Three kingdoms, one endless grind
PvP is realm versus realm: the two rival factions fight over territory and over the magic stones that spill upgrades and loot when they shatter. Around that sits the genre's old furniture, guilds, player-to-player trading, and gear upgrading that can destroy the item you were trying to improve.
It all runs on touch controls, plus an auto-hunt mode that keeps farming while you look away. That fits the design rather than apologizing for it: the game assumes long grinding sessions and hands you a tool so you don't have to sit through them.
What costs money, and what doesn't
Nothing up front. It installs free on Google Play and the App Store, with no subscription, no paid edition and no battle pass. The money comes from the in-game shop, which runs on a premium currency called DC (Dragon Coins) spent on items, upgrades and cosmetics.
The studio publishes no price list and no pack tiers, and the store pages don't break down in-app purchase ranges either, so there are no official numbers to quote. What does exist is a Turkish epin reseller market moving both DC and Yang, the in-game gold: the sign of an economy where real money speeds up your gear.
Where it stands today
The game is live and actively maintained. The current build is 4.5, released on August 12, 2026, adding a new pet and mount, a joystick lock for auto-movement, fixes to Ninja skills, and tweaks to inventory, trading and auto-hunt. Patches have landed at a steady clip since launch back in March 2024.
The first server, Ephesus, opened on March 15, 2024, with others following; the Collection system arrived in late 2025. The official FAQ states there are no plans for new servers for now and that any opening gets announced on social channels. There is no public roadmap.
Who it's for
If you want a big-budget MMORPG with a living world and a global community, this isn't it. Royale Online does something narrower: it's the old-school grind MMO packed onto a phone, with gear upgrading that stings and faction war that never resolves. The Metin2 comparison Turkish players keep making describes what you'll find pretty well.
The weak spots are easy to see. The Turkish App Store listing sits at 3.2 out of 5 across roughly 1,200 ratings, and recent reviews keep circling battery drain, disconnects and server capacity, with the studio replying right there on the store page. It also stays small and regional: the interface ships in sixteen languages, but the player base and the support live in its home market. There's no official population figure, and the only public number is a third-party estimate of more than 250,000 downloads on iOS.
