Echoes of Creation: Origin
About the game
Echoes of Creation: Origin is a third-person 3D action MMORPG, and it has one trait that shapes the entire project: it's built by a single person —Mark, of Torrano Dev— who started in early 2026 and grows it patch by patch. At its heart is the classic loop, the one that's hooked players for decades: kill mobs, hoard loot, tune a build. It doesn't reinvent the genre; it runs it small, without pretension, and honest about what it is.
How it plays
You pick from four weapons —sword, dagger, bow and staff— and at level 10 you commit to one of four classes: Swordsman, Ranger, Cleric or Assassin. From there you spend points across six stats to shape your character however you like. Progression runs to level 35 across seven zones with a linear story, multi-phase world bosses and a gear enhancement system with set bonuses that anchors the farming endgame.
Here's the most interesting wrinkle: despite the MMO label, a big part of the appeal is the auto-combat —Hunt and Guard modes— that farms items idle-style, online or offline. It's a clear nod to idle RPGs, and it sets the game's real rhythm: you can leave it working and come back to reallocate points and upgrade gear. The social side —guilds, parties, a player marketplace, PvP— is half-built: some pieces already work, others still sit on the roadmap.
Business model
It's Free to Play with optional purchases. It runs a dual currency —Gold, earned by playing, and Diamonds, the premium currency— with a Diamond Shop of premium items and a player-to-player marketplace. A plus for anyone investing time: no character wipe is planned for the full launch, so what you farm sticks. Worth knowing too, since the Steam page states it openly: some assets (3D models and textures) were AI-generated and reviewed by hand before shipping.
Current state
The game has been in Early Access since May 29, 2026 and gets frequent updates from its lone developer; by mid-2026 it was around version 1.6.x, which added nine more languages, Spanish included. Right now it offers seven zones, a level 35 cap, multi-phase world bosses and a farming endgame. The roadmap —from Polish & Launch onward— promises new zones, a higher level cap, crafting, guilds, a PvP arena, seasonal events and web and mobile builds (touch controls are in development). Steam reception is mixed but honest: around 63–64% positive reviews over a still-small sample, and no critic scores yet.
Who it's for
If you're after a big, polished MMORPG with a huge community, this isn't —yet— your game: it's small, carries the rough edges of a one-dev project and its social side is half-finished. But if a lightweight action RPG with a strong idle streak appeals to you, if you enjoy watching a project grow patch by patch, and if you value that it costs nothing to start and won't wipe your progress, there's something genuine here. It's an honest game about exactly what it is. You can follow it on its official site or try it on its Steam page.
