Eterspire hits Apple TV on August 3 and debuts the "Walk Like an Alcalagan" quest

The Argentine indie MMO confirms its Apple TV debut with crossplay and cross-progression, adds a quest that travels into Aetera's past, and refocuses its roadmap on retention.

Eterspire, the indie MMO from Argentine studio Stonehollow Workshop, has shipped its 79.0 update with two headline announcements: a new quest that travels into Aetera's past and confirmation that the game is coming to Apple TV on August 3. The patch also brings a deep overhaul of controller support, a surprise event, and a foundational shift in the studio's roadmap.

"Walk Like an Alcalagan": a journey into the past

The big content addition is the "Walk Like an Alcalagan" quest. It takes you back to the era of the ancient war, long before the crystals were created, to meet legendary ancestors and solve puzzles that uncover a lost chapter of Aetera's history. To start it, talk to the Desert Crystal at level 40 or higher.

Apple TV, crossplay and cross-progression

On August 3 Eterspire lands on Apple TV, its first jump to the big screen. The version arrives day one with crossplay and cross-progression across every previously available platform, so you can keep your adventure going seamlessly between phone, PC and TV.

That debut comes alongside a sweeping overhaul of controller support: smoother menu navigation, new shortcuts, fast scrolling with the D-pad, and a menu to see every player on the map and interact with them. The studio says these improvements put it 95% of the way toward Steam Deck Verified status.

Quickfoot, the Goblin of All Time

Since the entire dev team is Argentine, the patch adds a surprise event to celebrate the national team's run in this year's World Cup. Despite finishing second, the studio wanted to give thanks for the ride with an in-game celebration: visit the Stonehollow Fairgrounds at level 10 or higher.

A foundational shift toward retention

Behind the scenes, Stonehollow announced major changes to the quarter's roadmap: the focus shifts to making the game feel fundamentally better to play —moving, fighting, exploring and interacting with the world— in order to strengthen the foundation and improve long-term retention. The details are in its new devlog. In the same announcement, the studio said it banned 45 accounts for using modded or unofficial clients.

The rest of the changelog piles on quality-of-life touches: the login screen's main theme was re-orchestrated, the soundtrack's volume was normalized, and new privacy and chat options arrive. In the community, the Bastion group smashed its own record and is now on wave 255, double what the second-place group has reached.

A new update schedule

The next update arrives on August 18, but the studio is standardizing its cadence: starting in September, patches will release on the first and third Tuesday of every month (if that falls on a national holiday, the next day instead). To ease the transition, the update planned for August 28 now moves to September 1. You can follow it all on the official website.
