Trove gets its marketplace back after eight months and rolls out Tiny Quests

After nearly eight months offline, Trove's marketplace is back on PC, though selling caps are still distorting prices. Alongside it, Tiny Quests turn your Allies into a full progression system with levels, tickets and rewards.

Gamigo has brought the marketplace and player trading back to Trove after nearly eight months of blackout on PC — and it did so almost without fanfare, in the same week the voxel MMO launched Tiny Quests, a questing and progression system for Allies. Two very different pieces of news: one fixes something that had been broken since late 2025, the other stacks new content on top.

The market is back, with fine print

The auction hall and player-to-player trading had been down on PC since late December 2025. Gamigo pulled the plug after spotting exploitative behaviour that, in the studio's own words, had caused severe price disruption, and chose not to ship a stopgap fix: it waited until it had stronger protections in place. That work included a new anti-cheat system, framed as the first step toward restoring stability, and a round of public test server trials through July.

The official reopening announcement stays cautious to the last line: the team says it is still reviewing the game's economy — currency balance and marketplace behaviour included — and that adjustments will land iteratively. The downside is already visible in-game: the anti-cheat enforces a per-hour selling cap per account (players report roughly three), which chokes supply and keeps prices higher than they should be. The market is open; a healthy market isn't here yet.

Player trading works again on PC after the longest outage in Trove's history.

Tiny Quests: put your Allies to work

The other headline landed on August 4. Tiny Quests turn Allies — the minipets that until now were little more than a passive bonus — into something close to a management game. The Tadpole Tours Embarkation Station shows up next to the chest when you clear a dungeon in an adventure world, and that's where you assemble the expedition.

Each quest has required slots you must fill to start and optional ones. Every Ally you send adds to the rewards, but also pushes up the ticket price, and any Ally below the recommended level tacks on a Low-Level Fee. That's where the interesting decision lives: send the whole roster and overpay, or pick carefully. By default you can have three quests running at once, and stretch that to six with crafted upgrades.

Allies stop being decoration: now they level up and bring rewards home.

The progression is real and measurable: Allies earn Pet XP up to level 30, with stat bumps at levels 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30, and a 5-star completion grants the Blessing of the Lilypad, a buff that lasts a full week. The patch also adds Tiny Quest badges to Collections and, in the Hub, the Tadpole Tours Gift Shop and its kiosk, where Visitor Vouchers trade for consumables and supplies.

The fine print has gifts for builders and collectors: the event workbenches — Turkeytopia Table, Snowfest Table and Bunfest Station — are now craftable at the Builder's Crafting Bench, Fiona's Catastrophe recipes cost less, and Cranny now stocks all six items of the month.

Why it matters

Trove keeps leaning on its mix of crafting, dungeons and voxel building.

Trove leans on crafting and trading more than most of its peers, so nearly eight months without a working economy felt like forever to its community. The marketplace coming back is the big story of the week, even if Gamigo treated it as paperwork; Tiny Quests are the content that gives returning players something concrete to chase. The hard part is still ahead: getting the economy to settle on its own, without the emergency caps that currently buy stability at the cost of prices.
