Black Desert launches the Agent class and hands out Hyperboost to hit 750 Gear Score

Black Desert launches the Agent class and hands out Hyperboost to hit 750 Gear Score

The silent gunslinger is now playable in Black Desert, arriving alongside an accelerated progression track that takes season characters from 582 to 750 Gear Score. Here's what each Hyperboost step gives you and the events around it.

After all the teasers at the Heidel Ball, Black Desert finally laid its cards on the table: the new Agent class is playable as of the July 30, 2026 maintenance, and it doesn't arrive alone. Pearl Abyss paired it with Hyperboost, a bundle of events built to let a fresh character rocket straight into high-end content. Everything here comes from the official Steam announcement.

Agent, Black Desert's new gunslinger class, arrives alongside the Hyperboost event.

Agent, the silent reaper

Agent joins the roster as "the silent reaper": a revolver-wielding gunslinger, a colder and more surgical style than Black Desert's usual greatsword spectacle. The launch celebration sets the tone, with themed rewards like Agent's Thunderous Rhythm, a wall ornament that faithfully replicates his revolver. If you're coming from another class, it's the perfect excuse to spin up a season character and try it from scratch.

Hyperboost: from 582 to 750 Gear Score

The heart of the patch is Hyperboost, a progression ladder with very concrete milestones. The starting point is to create and graduate a season character for a full PEN (V) Tuvala gear set (582 Gear Score). From there the climb is tiered: Olvia Academy's support hands over the 3 Sovereign Weapons (616, +34); Alustin's quests add 6 PEN (V) Kharazad accessories —necklace, belt, two earrings and two rings— (654, +38); and the Black Shrine Boss Blitz provides 4 pieces of Slumbering Origin gear (694, +40).

Hyperboost chains gear milestones to push new characters toward 750 Gear Score.

The rapid progression doesn't stop there: there are easier requirements for the Inverted Heart of Garmoth, Kharazad accessory enhancement support, and Desperate Crystal of Origin support. By completing Hyperboost plus that extra content, the stated goal is to reach 750 Gear Score with a character that started from nothing. The Hyperboost Season Pass was also redesigned around progression: you graduate simply by leveling up, the PEN (V) Tuvala set is 100% guaranteed, and there's a new token for adventure supplies.

Operation Level-Up and Agent's gifts

To celebrate Agent's arrival, Pearl Abyss is handing out extras. Operation Level-Up runs from July 30 to August 27, 2026 and adds 3 extra character slots (up to a cap of 47), a Season Character Ticket, and a batch of Challenge (Y) rewards for leveling up with Agent, with juicy items like the Speedloader for the Adventurer's Tome slot and the combat and life Resolves. In parallel, Agent's Adventures has you collect Agent's Seals to exchange for supplies like premium enhancement boxes and Value Packs.

The rest of the event season

Around the launch there are more dated activities. World boss Vell and Garmoth rewards are tripled from July 30 to August 13. A Daily Special Pass also returns to the Pearl Shop, with appearance and pet previews; its sale period runs until August 20 and the event until September 3. It's a perfect season to come back, keeping in mind that a good chunk of these cosmetic and convenience extras go through the Pearl Shop: Hyperboost gifts the muscle, but the shine is still for sale.
