Black Desert launches Guild Fame and rewrites how guild wars are declared

This week's patch adds a progression system that turns every member's activity into guild-wide Fame, lets guilds declare six-hour wars without consent for 400,000 Fame, and kicks off Guild League Focus Week. The regular season returns on August 27.

Black Desert just shipped one of those patches you feel at the guild level rather than on your character sheet. Guild Fame is now live: a progression system that turns what each member does — solo play included — into points for the whole guild, and that same currency now gates how war gets declared. On top of that, Guild League Focus Week is running, and a long-requested combat analysis tool finally landed.

Guild Fame: the guild grows on what each member does

The system targets an old pain point: solo effort never showed up anywhere at the guild level. Now it does. Activities grant Fame across a huge range, from 50 points for something as basic as logging in to 150,000 for a War of the Roses win. The total isn't cosmetic — guilds spend it to unlock benefits.

In practice, a mid-sized guild no longer needs thirty people online at the same time to make progress. Everyday grinding — what most players actually do — now pushes the collective forward too.

Declaring war now has a price tag

The sharpest change is in the war system. As of this patch a guild can declare war on another without consent, paying 400,000 Guild Fame for a capped six-hour conflict. To keep it from turning into harassment, the same guild can't be targeted again for 48 hours.

It's a deliberate attempt to revive open PvP without going back to the days when big guilds picked a victim and never let go. The Fame cost is a genuine brake: war is no longer free, and it competes directly with the perks that same Fame could buy.

Guild League: Focus Week now, season on August 27

Guild League Focus Week started alongside the patch and runs from the August 6 maintenance to the one on August 13. Match rewards are boosted for winners and losers alike, and Guild Defender wins convert into boxes for every guild member except Apprentices, handed out during the August 13 maintenance.

Running alongside it is a recruitment event from August 7 to August 26: join a guild through the Guild Recruitment (G) window, log in for two days, and claim your support boxes, with separate packs for new and returning accounts. The regular Guild League season starts August 27 and runs four weeks, which makes these three weeks a de facto preseason to bank Fame and learn the systems before they count for real. Full reward and schedule details are in the official announcement.

Marni's Combat Analyzer, a new world boss, and console

The other big addition is quieter but changes daily play: Marni's Combat Analyzer surfaces personal combat stats — damage dealt, damage taken, DPS and fight duration. In a game where comparing two setups meant grinding for an hour and trusting your gut, immediate feedback is a huge step up for anyone who takes gear or rotations seriously.

There's a new world boss too: Dark Bonghwang can randomly show up in place of the usual Land of the Morning Light bosses (Sangoon, Uturi, Bulgasal and the Golden Pig King). And Emma Bartali's Journal got tuned so its enhancement objectives sit within reach of a wider slice of the playerbase.

Console gets a different slice of the cycle: the Agent class and the Hyperboost system arrive there, closing a bit of the content gap between the two versions.

Taken together, the pieces all point the same way: making guild membership worth it even if you can't sign up for a Node War every night. If you've been playing solo, this is the patch to take advantage of before August 27.
