Black Desert Online raises the level cap to 70 and opens Inner Edania tomorrow

Thursday's maintenance pushes the level cap to 70, opens Inner Edania's five zones and four weekly bosses, and ends support for Windows 7 and DirectX 9.

Black Desert Online pushes its level cap to 70 with the Thursday, August 13 maintenance, running 08:00 to 12:00 UTC on NA/EU. It arrives alongside Edania Part 2, the inner half of the region Pearl Abyss laid out at Heidel Ball 2026 as the close of the game's first big saga.

One practical note first: experience banked on your Tag character won't apply past level 70 once the patch lands, so it's worth cashing in whatever is stored before the maintenance window opens.

Inner Edania opens five top-tier grinding spots: the temples of Aphrodon, Magaia and Aresion, Emesia Resistance, and the Scales of Judgment, built for three-player parties. The weekly boss hunt sits on top of them, with the For the Throne quests live from 00:00 on Thursday.

Getting in isn't free: the bosses ask for 405 to 420 AP and 485 to 505 DP depending on which one. Beating them qualifies you for each region's Throne of Edana contest, which pays out tax income and exclusive crowns.

The loot revolves around two accessory lines that push Kharazard out of the endgame: Ekleta, high-stat and untradeable, and Apeiron, craftable and sellable on the central market in exchange for weaker base stats. Outside Edania, the patch also rebalances bonus AP and damage reduction, and adds Primordial Pigment extraction.

On that same August 13, Pearl Abyss drops support for Windows 7 or older and DirectX 9 or lower: per the official notice, the game simply won't launch on those setups. No grace period was announced.
