ESO Plus is free for everyone: the trial runs through August 27

The Elder Scrolls Online has switched on a free ESO Plus trial again: any account can turn the optional subscription on and keep it running until August 27 at 10AM EST. It activates in-game, under the ESO Plus tab of the Crown Store, and it works on PC/Mac, PlayStation and Xbox.

Most of what it unlocks is content: over 30 DLC packs covering zones, quests and thirty group dungeons, plus the Antiquities and Tales of Tribute systems. Trial accounts also get the unlimited Craft Bag, double bank space on every character and a 10% boost to experience, gold and crafting inspiration.

Worth knowing before you click: the trial does not include the monthly crown stipend, the Companions, or the Blackwood, High Isle and Necrom chapters. Nothing gets charged once the week is over. Paying members have a separate deadline, September 3, to claim the Pyrodraconic Camel-Lizard mount.

The window lands on an already busy month: August's schedule in Tamriel already had the Sheogorath questline, weeks of PvP rewards and Update 51 on the PTS. Five days left to measure how much of it plays better with the subscription switched on.
