RuneScape opens Leagues II: Equilibrium with a locked map and eight Blessing tiers

RuneScape's limited-time mode is live and runs until September 21. A fresh Ironman character, region locking that starts in Misthalin and Havenhythe, and a new combat track split between Order, Chaos and Balance.

Leagues II: Equilibrium is up and running. Jagex opened the limited-time worlds at roughly 1:00 PM BST on August 10, and the league stays live until the September 21 game update. The date was already locked in back when the studio started showing off the first relics in late July.

Your character starts from scratch and is an Ironman: no trading with other players and no Grand Exchange. The map starts closed too, with Misthalin and Havenhythe as the only regions available. Karamja comes free with your first area unlock, and from there you pick three more regions, which decide what bosses, gear and training methods you can reach.

The Leagues II: Equilibrium Dev Diary, walking through relics, blessings and regions.

The big addition is Blessings, a separate combat progression track unlocked by clearing combat tasks across your chosen regions. It runs eight tiers deep and forces a choice between Order, Chaos and Balance, with a God Tier blessing at the end depending on the path you took. Relics, meanwhile, were rebalanced from the ground up.

The rest of the league is built to strip out friction. More than forty quests complete themselves, While Guthix Sleeps and Requiem for a Dragon among them. Experience starts at a 5x multiplier and climbs with every relic tier, shops carry infinite stock, and both the 30,000 damage cap and the life points cap are gone.

Trophies run from Bronze at 2,000 points up to the Dragon Trophy, which asks for 48,000. This year's reward shop (the Bria pet, the Equilibrium aura, furniture plans for your house) isn't open yet: Jagex says it'll announce when it is.
