Camelot Unchained's Update 0.47 finally makes mobs drop loot

Early access patch 0.47 adds loot drops from enemies, doubles class experience in RvR combat and reworks the gathering curve. The studio admits the current way of leveling is a placeholder.
Camelot Unchained has pushed Update 0.47 to early access, and the change players will feel first is the simplest one: mobs now drop items. Bandits, trolls, zombies and goblins leave loot behind, in small amounts of basic materials like fish, herbs, coal, salt, silver nuggets or copper fragments. The studio asked for feedback on the drops before tuning them any further.
The other front is progression. Two weeks after swapping ability-based leveling for Progression Points, the studio doubled the experience earned from using abilities against other players and in RvR combat, and admitted something worth noting: leveling through ability usage is a placeholder it plans to replace.
What comes next, according to the announcement itself, is experience from enemies killed in both PvE and PvP, and from capturing points of interest. A future update should also speed up the first five levels. The stated goal is for RvR to be a way to level, rather than something you get around to once your character is already capped.
Gathering gets a new curve: the early levels go by much faster, while the higher ones take slightly longer. The plan is to add leveled nodes at points of interest that yield more experience and more resources, with better quality materials down the line. One small mercy: resource nodes are no longer tab-targetable, fishing aside.
The rest is polish: biome work across Yggdra Forest and Silvermine Mountains, skull icons that spell out how dangerous a mob is, stack counters on status effects. The patch notes flag one open bug of their own: Home Island capture points can get stuck after flipping back to neutral. Servers have been running on weekends only since August 3rd.
