Kathana adds 32-player raids, and only in Kruma

Kathana's August 14 update adds a raid system, with one hard limit attached: it only works in Kruma and High Kruma. Gameolic's MMORPG, in Steam early access since August 2025, builds raids out of whole parties instead of individual players.

It runs on commands. A party leader types /raid to invite another party leader, and the request only goes through if that leader isn't in a raid already. Players without a party can't be pulled in directly: they join a party first, and the whole party gets invited.

/raidleave pulls the writer's entire party out. A raid holds up to 4 parties, capping it at 32 players, and each one shows on screen as a numbered Group, with its members' buffs and status visible.

The change you actually feel is a different one: party-wide buffs now cross between parties in the same raid. Selecting a character from another group is enough for Kadorai, Andra Zala or Mantra Shield to land on that whole party. Party chat is shared too; Rupiah, Pranas and Master Points are not.

The announcement flags the gap: Rocana, Trama and Barga still only reach the caster's own party.

Outside raids, every faction base in High Kruma now has a second Guard Commander, bigger and with more damage and stats, aimed squarely at players camping enemy bases. Respawn invulnerability works on any map now, but it lasts 15 seconds instead of 30, and it doesn't kick in if you're revived through Samubada or Silfrijan.

The client also picked up a graphics API selector: Auto, OpenGL, Vulkan and DirectX 11. The full patch notes also cover NPC dialogue fixes and a queue for mail that arrives while your inbox is full.
