WoW's Season 2 tuning pass goes after the Devourer, Arcane and Disc tier sets
Blizzard has posted the class changes going live on August 18 alongside Midnight Season 2. The big cuts land on tier bonuses: Devourer Demon Hunter drops from 8 soul fragments to 2, and Arcane Mage loses nearly all of its 2-piece.
Blizzard has posted the class tuning landing on Tuesday, August 18, the same day Midnight's Season 2 opens. Patch 12.1 went live on the 11th, so the studio had a full week of data to work from, and it says it found several tier sets tracking well above its internal targets.
The hardest cut goes to Devourer Demon Hunter. The 4-piece bonus now generates 2 soul fragments instead of 8, and its Reap damage bonus drops from 20% to 10%. So the spec doesn't fall through the floor, every ability gains 14% damage in PvE, the largest flat increase in the pass.
Arcane Mage loses most of its 2-piece: the Arcane Missiles bonus falls from 20% to 5%, with 3% baseline ability damage as a consolation. Discipline Priest takes a 30% damage cut, and to keep healing roughly where it was, Atonement transfer climbs from 32% to 46%.
San'layn Death Knights get clipped twice: Visceral Strength now grants 6% strength instead of 10%, and the Transfusion bonus is halved to 5%. Frost gets 9% more damage across the board to make up for its own set trim. Fury Warrior and Subtlety Rogue go up 6%, Enhancement Shaman 5%, Assassination Rogue 4%.
The calendar for what comes next is already up: further tuning passes on August 25, September 1 and September 22, plus whatever Blizzard adds between then and Season 3.
