Darktide floods Tertium with the infected until September 2

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide has switched on Shambling Horrors, a tiered event you progress by running missions with the Endless Hordes modifier. It pays out Ordo dockets, plasteel and diamantine, plus a cosmetic insignia at the final tier.
Fatshark has kicked off a limited-time event in Warhammer 40,000: Darktide called Shambling Horrors, live now and running until September 2. The fiction behind it: whatever Admonition is doing is infecting Tertium's population, and entire districts have been lost to the hordes.
There's exactly one way to make progress: complete missions carrying the Endless Hordes modifier, which packs the corridors with infected enemies. There's no separate activity and no new map. The modifier shows up on the mission board and plays like any other run.
The tiers pay out in Ordo dockets, plasteel and diamantine, and finishing the last one grants a cosmetic insignia. Those are the same materials the crafting bench already eats; the announcement mentions no Aquilas, no new weapons and nothing from the store. Fatshark also didn't say how many tiers the event has, or how many missions each one asks for.
The announcement signs off by hinting the infection could be "the herald of worse to come", the same thread the studio has been using to link its live events through the Admonition storyline. The concrete part is thirteen days on the calendar to reach that insignia.
