Fellowship puts new seasons on hold to fix the game before 1.0

Chief Rebel said in an off-the-cuff livestream that it is stepping back from seasonal content to work on bugs, tech and the game's core on the way to 1.0. There is no formal announcement or timeline yet.
Fellowship is changing course. In a fairly candid, off-the-cuff livestream, the team at Chief Rebel admitted the game's focus has to shift: instead of pushing out new seasons of content, the studio will put its effort into fixing bugs, sorting out the tech side and shoring up the game's core, with an eye on the 1.0 release.
That's a big turn for a game that has been built around a seasonal calendar from day one. Chief Rebel's co-op dungeon runner has been in early access since October 2025, chaining together seasons with resets, new heroes and system overhauls — the most recent one, in June 2026, rewrote itemization from the ground up. Breaking that cadence means the next major drop won't be a season, it'll be a sturdier game.
What changes for players right now
In the short term, not much: the servers are up and the current season is still running. What goes away is the promise of new content every few months, and in its place comes a real chance that the problems the game has carried since it hit early access — queues, stability, progression that doesn't always save the way it should — stop competing for attention with content patches that papered over them. For a game built on running dungeons with friends over and over, technical health matters as much as the next hero.
It's also a signal about the calendar. Chief Rebel estimated roughly six months in early access when it opened the doors, and it's been considerably longer than that; the studio talking about "getting to 1.0" instead of teasing the next season suggests the jump to a finished version is now the year's real target. None of it comes with a date, though: the stream offered no window and no detailed roadmap.
Worth taking with the right amount of salt: this came out of an unscripted live chat, not a formal announcement. The direction is clear and the team said it plainly, but the details — what happens to the current season when it ends, whether there's another reset before 1.0, what makes the cut for the finished version — aren't written down anywhere yet. If the game is on your radar, the official Steam page is where the firm announcements will land.
