Wolcen 2 is official: Early Access in 2027 and four-player co-op

Wolcen Studio has announced the sequel to its dark fantasy ARPG. Wolcen 2 hits Early Access on PC in 2027 with one playable act, a planned 12 months of open development and online co-op for up to four.
Wolcen Studio has announced Wolcen 2, a sequel to the dark fantasy ARPG it released in 2020. It arrives first in Early Access on PC via Steam in 2027, with the 1.0 version adding current-gen consoles later on. Beyond that year, there is no date.
The studio put numbers on its Steam page. Early Access opens with one full act plus sidequests, and the plan is around 12 months before 1.0. By then it promises three acts and endgame content, with abilities going from 25 to more than 50, bosses from 6 to 15 and biomes from 10 to 18.
Character building repeats the first game's approach: no fixed classes, with the build coming out of the equipped weapon, its modifiers and the passive trees. Shadow Form returns as the transformed state the character channels in combat. You play solo or in online co-op for up to four, this time peer-to-peer instead of dedicated servers.
The story picks up years after the first game ends, with the world once again on the edge of collapse. The Warlord, bastard son of the Shadow God, faces a prophecy that demands a sacrifice to hold reality together. Two challenge modes wait after the campaign.
The studio says Early Access will cost less than the finished version, and that the first playtest is already running: entry goes through its own testing program, not a public beta. No actual price was given.
