Last Epoch Unveils Season 5: Rage of the Frostborn Is Coming

Eleventh Hour Games has dropped the Season 5 teaser for Last Epoch and given it a name: Rage of the Frostborn. The July monthly blog confirms August will be spent getting it ready.
The wait is over — at least the naming part. Eleventh Hour Games wrapped up the July edition of its Eterra Monthly blog with what the community had been asking for over the past few weeks: the Season 5 teaser for Last Epoch, and its name — Rage of the Frostborn. The studio paired the reveal with the start date, which makes the video required viewing for anyone deciding whether to come back to Eterra.
A Name That Sets the Tone
The blog text is deliberately thin: it introduces the teaser, welcomes players to Rage of the Frostborn, and doesn't spend a single extra paragraph on what the season actually contains. That's the studio's usual play — teaser first, details later — so what's locked in for now is the name, the frozen setting it hints at, and the promise that the substantial reveals land in the coming weeks.
Build Spotlight: Bleed Bladedancer
This month's build spotlight went to Max Pita and a bleed Bladedancer built around never standing still. The plan is to stack bleed on everything nearby with Dancing Strikes and Shurikens, then detonate it with Puncture when something tanky shows up. The stat that rules everything is attack speed: more speed means more hits, more Trickling Cuts stacking, and — by design — more raw bleed damage.
The clever bit is Salt the Wound, which turns critical strike multiplier into physical penetration for bleed — so the build stacks crit multiplier despite never landing a crit. The trade-off is steep on the accessibility side: it leans on the Weaver set and two hard-to-farm weapons (Ataraxia and Weaver's Gift), runs a thin health pool, and punishes gearing mistakes. It clears fast and bursts bosses down, but it's no starter build.
Dogs, Shields and Not Much Else
The rest of the newsletter is lighter fare. There's a new recurring section called Pets of Epoch — studio pets, kicking off with Archie, EHG_Muffin's chihuahua — and Mike's teaser corner showed off Perilous Reflection, an item already glimpsed during one of the dev Q&A streams before he took a well-earned break. None of it moves the needle, but it does suggest the team is saving its ammunition for the full season reveal.
What to Expect From Here
The studio said it plainly in its sign-off: August goes entirely into getting Season 5 ready, with more details on the way. For anyone who plays Last Epoch seasonally, that's the usual signal — the current cycle is entering its final stretch, and it's worth wrapping up any lingering goals before the reset hits. Once the full patch notes land, we'll find out whether Rage of the Frostborn is a structural shift or one more turn of the screw.
