Final Fantasy XIV Brings Back the Yo-kai Watch Crossover to Farm Minions and Prizes

Final Fantasy XIV Brings Back the Yo-kai Watch Crossover to Farm Minions and Prizes

The Yo-kai Watch crossover returns to Final Fantasy XIV for a fifth time, running August 4 to October 5, 2026, with FATEs to farm minions, themed weapons and brand-new rewards.

One of Final Fantasy XIV's most beloved crossovers is back in Eorzea: the Yo-kai Watch collaboration returns for a fifth time and kicks off next week. It's a limited-time event, so if you missed one of the earlier runs —or you still want to complete the Medallium— this is another shot at farming the spirits from Level-5's series and walking away with a solid haul of cosmetic rewards.

How it works

The loop is the familiar one: once you grab the Yo-kai Watch and the Yo-kai Medallium, you complete FATEs to collect Yo-kai Medals. With enough medals you unlock each Yo-kai as a minion, and the Special Legendary Medals that drop while a Yo-kai minion is active are the key to the themed weapons. The FATEs show up across the A Realm Reborn city-state areas and every region in Heavensward and Stormblood.

As for the weapons, they still cover up through the Shadowbringers expansion: there are models for jobs like Gunbreaker and Dancer, but not for the newer ones —no Reaper, Sage, Viper or Pictomancer—. Good news for newcomers, too: the event should be reachable even with the upcoming limited job Beastmaster, which caps at level 50.

What's new this time

While most of the rewards carry over, this fifth run adds some fresh items. The cutest are the bean-bag furnishings of Jibanyan, Komasan and USApyon to decorate your house or apartment, plus a Yo-kai-themed Adventurer Plate frame kit. Throw in the Manderville Gold Saucer Points the event hands out and there's plenty of reason to head back to Eorzea even if you've already done the rest.

Dates and why it matters

The event runs from August 4 to October 5, 2026 (Pacific time), so there's plenty of room to finish it without rushing. A crossover this old coming back for a fifth time says something about how fondly the community holds it: light, cosmetic, nostalgia-driven content, perfect for dipping in between patches. Every detail and requirement is on the official event page on the Lodestone.
