Ereb, Grand Chase Classic's new character, fights with his shield

Ereb, Grand Chase Classic's new character, arrives August 12: he fights with a shield that attacks, counters and turns into the Ruin Blade. KOG previews his kit plus a login event to celebrate.
Grand Chase Classic is adding a new hero to Bermesiah: Ereb, a character who builds his entire combat style around a shield. KOG has shared the details of his kit ahead of the next update, currently slated for August 12, 2026.
A shield that attacks, too
Ereb's basic weapon is his shield, but rather than using it purely for defense, he throws it and teleports across the stage, chaining command attacks and skills. The result is a nimble, flexible fighter who can reposition mid-combo.
His signature trait is the guard counter: with the X command, Ereb blocks incoming attacks and, on perfect timing, fires back with a counterattack. While guarding, directional inputs let him generate shields and restore HP for allies, or chain evasions and other special commands, giving him a support side as well.
The Ruin Gauge and Ruin Blade Mode
Because of the influence of Solene, who took over his body, Ereb can tap into the Powers of Ruin. He isn't fond of using them, but he resorts to them when he feels it's necessary to protect his friends. Every landed hit or successful counter fills the Ruin Gauge quickly.
With the gauge full, he activates Ruin Blade Mode, which unlocks exclusive commands. It's on by default, but after a Job Change players can choose when to trigger it: the idea is to build ruin by guarding and countering, then swap to the blade when it's time to deal damage.
Celebration event for Ereb's arrival
To mark the update, KOG is running a login event from August 12 to September 23, 2026 (UTC+0). Just log in during that window to receive mail rewards like an Another TYPE1+ Coordi Outfit Box, an Ereb Mini Doll Select Box, an Ereb Growth Support Box and 30 Seal Breaker Scrolls. The full details are on the official event page.
KOG notes that everything shown is still in development and may differ from the final release, and said it will share more information —including Ereb's skills— in the coming weeks.
