Monsters & Memories rebuilds Shaman and Inquisitor, opens two new dungeons

Beta Patch 9 is live: both classes were rebuilt from the ground up, a new NPC swaps out your old spellbook for free, and the Rothold and Fallen Watch dungeons are open. Early access is six weeks away.

The patch Monsters & Memories had been teasing is live. Update 0.28.0.0 (Beta Patch 9) landed on August 20 with most of what the studio had outlined days earlier: two new dungeons, several returning encounters, the first pass at the player camera, and full rebuilds for two classes.

The Shaman is now firmly an enhancer and debilitator. Healing leans on Pact of Renewal, a regeneration on a single target, and Rite of Mending, the group version on a long cooldown. Debuffs were sorted into three Omen lines: attack speed, physical attributes and resistances.

It also lost tools. Combat pets (Spirit Wolf and Summon Companion) and elemental damage like Flameburst are gone, pushing the class toward spirit magic and disease effects.

The Inquisitor is still the tank built to shut casters down, now hitting harder. Reflecting Bash replaces Kick and locks out the interrupted school of magic, Censuring Strike folds Slam and Mind Exhaustion into one button, and Pillage Mana refunds mana where Incinerate Mana used to sit. Aura of the Inquisitive and the Haste line are gone, the latter reborn as Aura of Rapidity.

So nobody has to reroll, a new NPC named Master Gedric performs a one-time spell swap on your first active spellbook, stationed in both classes' guild halls. The patch notes warn you to double-check which spellbook is equipped before you talk to him.

The rest of what actually changes at the keyboard: the Rothold and Fallen Watch dungeons, the return of the Bone Construct, Pustulax and Lord Ga'Duuz fights, and new residential lots in Night Harbor. Druid, Cleric, Fighter, Monk and Rogue picked up scattered tweaks in the full changelog.

Early access is still aimed at October 1. The studio hasn't said when the next patch lands, or which classes are next in the deep dive series.
