Warframe opens the Tau System: everything from the TennoCon 2026 reveals trailer

Digital Extremes wrapped TennoCon 2026 with a major reveals trailer that lays out Warframe's roadmap for the rest of the year. The official line puts it plainly: there's plenty to do before you hit the rain-soaked streets of Fornax in late 2026, and the road there runs through two concrete stops — Amir's Shockwave and the Iceblade of Narin update. First up is Amir's Shockwave, a Nightwave event fronted by Amir, the hyperspeed protoframe introduced in the 1999 arc. Per event coverage, Amir runs a game of Fables & Frontiers with the whole Hex, bringing the reward remix these seasons are known for. It's the content landing before the year-end leap, built to keep the community busy as the big update approaches.

Warframe's traditional fall update finally has a name: Iceblade of Narin. It brings a new ice Warframe, the Citrine Prime variant, a Qorvex Deluxe skin and — long requested — a Banshee rework with its own Deluxe skin. It's the familiar mix of fresh content and veteran-frame tweaks, and it works as the bridge to Tau.

The headliner is Warframe: Tau, the next major narrative chapter. For the first time the game opens a new star chart in the Tau System, until now only referenced in the story. Its heart is Fornax, a Sentient ring-city of skyscrapers, flooded tunnels and a gilded casino with a jazz singer, while the Sentients scrape by in the slums below. A black rain with psychological effects sets the mood and seeds a new enemy faction, the Fornax Drowners. All of it arrives in late 2026.

The chapter also debuts Brysko, the 65th Warframe and the first built on a Sentient base: a noir detective voiced by Matthew Mercer (Critical Role). Rounding it out are a new Railjack navigation system for traveling beyond the Origin system, the return of Albrecht Entrati as the antagonist, and even an original card game, Portau, in Fornax's casino.

For Warframe's active base, the trailer reads as a clean roadmap: staggered content — an event, an update and a narrative expansion — from now to year's end, without the gaps that sometimes sit between big drops. Tau finally being playable, rather than a lore footnote, is the kind of payoff the game has been seeding for years.
