Dune: Awakening puts its single-player patch on the Public Test Client

Patch 1.5.1.0 is live on the Public Test Client with a single-player mode, character management from the main menu and reworked dungeon scaling. It hits the live game on September 22, alongside the console launch.
Funcom has pushed patch 1.5.1.0 to the Dune: Awakening Public Test Client. It is the test build of the update that goes live on September 22, the same day the game lands on consoles, and the studio is upfront about the work-in-progress and placeholder pieces still in it. The PTC will stay open longer than usual this time.
The headline change is the single-player mode. You pick a difficulty preset or hand-tune harvesting rates, XP gain and combat, then play the whole thing alone, Deep Desert included. Coriolis storms hit softer when you are on your own.
The second addition changes how every session starts: a character-centric experience, with creation and browsing from the main menu and a choice of where to take each character. PTC testers also get the Progression Unlock Panel, which hands out resources, gear, XP, Journey chapters, faction ranks and crafting materials.
Three items from the rest of the list actually change how the game plays. Difficulty and reward scaling in the overland dungeon maps was restructured so the loot matches the effort; a combat balancing pass focused on melee and NPCs; and performance optimizations landed alongside UI, gamepad and rumble work. The full patch notes are on the official site.
Two face tattoos are in there as well, Sandworm's Eye and The Maker's Markings, designed off player input during the first anniversary livestream.
On September 22, Dune: Awakening arrives on consoles: PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, day one on Game Pass, with a 60 fps performance mode. Deluxe and Ultimate editions open the doors on September 17. Before that, from August 26 to 30, Funcom is bringing the console build and single-player mode to Gamescom, Hall 6.
