Corepunk scatters capture points across its open world

The latest update drops unannounced capture points into the open world, with escalating enemy waves, chests for holding out, and a war points leaderboard.
Corepunk has brought war to its open world. The latest update adds capture points that spawn about a dozen at a time out of hundreds of possible locations, with no announcement anywhere: they only become visible once a player wanders close enough.
The mechanic is easy to explain and hard to hold. You stand inside the point to capture it while progressively tougher enemy waves roll in, and the longer you last, the better it pays. The other threat is other players: a group with enough muscle can shut someone else's capture down.
Holding out long enough unlocks bronze, silver and gold chests, plus war points that feed a leaderboard, so the incentive doesn't stop at loot.
The system arrives as part of the batch of open world activities Artificial Core announced in early August, meant to roll out in stages. The rest of the patch is housekeeping: tags for items and abilities, class and gear tweaks, and adjustments to mob behaviour, PvE arenas, quests, the UI and translations.
What isn't known is nearly as much as what is: the studio hasn't published how often the points respawn, how long you need to hold one to reach the gold chest, or what war points are good for beyond a spot on the board.
